It's downright fishy. If the mission was important, why wouldn't they put a qualified "pro" on the job instead of Wilson, the "volunteer"?

Wilson and his backers make a point of saying he wasn't paid, except for expenses. Why would that be important -- except to skirt the secrecy rule, so he could go public?

Either that or they want us to believe that the CIA couldn't afford to send somebody qualified.

This sounds like a political hack job. Given the revelation that the blundering, incompetent UN, that couldn't enforce its own resolutions against Saddam, is in charge of regulating the mines, and France and Germany have economic interests in them, there's a real story to be investigated.
