Well, buy a 1975 300 SD and it will have to suffice.

I like the 1968 190 SL. I used to drive a 1963 190D.

Or go back to German made models. Up to 1994 all the Benz's I had experience with were still good cars. Superior handling characteristics and features, luxurious automobiles. I drove a Benx for quite a few years, and I have to say that nothing compares to them for ruggedness, handling, ride and durability. They are also very safe cars to drive, as they will not easily leave the road in bad handling conditions.

The features that are engineering firsts and improvements over American cars are too numberous to mention.

Perhaps the AMG model is substandard. I doubt that all models do not measure up.

Benz is a cheap car to own, as it gets very good mileage, and has a very low repair frequency. On my first Benz the tires themselves lasted over 200 thousand miles. (Pirelli Cinturato)
