wilcousa, Those IOUs must be paid. Workers and Employers have paid their social security taxes over the years in faith that those benefits would be paid. It is a contract between generations. I paid my dues for the past 42 years and now I am drawing my benefits. Each succeeding generation must be able to do the same. The government will not be allowed to escape this liability by pleading poverty.
