Chomsky the master linguist. That's for sure. His breakthru was language theory, which I studied in computer science. Wow. He created the methods used to extract and produce the meaning in any string of symbols, paving the way for all computer languages to follow, as well as human language. That will be his legacy 100 years from now, more so than his politics. The "TR" doctrine, which I think we are following, is to "Make the world safe for the United States." Same thing, just how you put it. I think you nailed it. It was originally termed the "White Man's Burden". The problem is that the "little brown people" weren't considered even human by many back in TR's time, and didn't have much to say about it. They do now.
