In the part of the heartland that is devastated on the jobs crisis, Bush has lost on that matter alone. Michigan for example used to be a swing state. The dems now think they have it. Ohio is a swing but jobs are so bad there I'll bet it is similar to Michigan.

Jobs are a secular problem related to trade and Bush doesn't have the staff or talent to deal with the issue so no meaningful improvement in 04 on jobs. If the next white house brings in a talented negotiator the jobs issues can be solved. But not with this team, they were calling jobs a lagging indicator until about a week ago. doh!
