I tend to discount any discussion of al Qaeda. The term was not invented, nor is is in common usage among those who are so labelled. The term was invented by the CIA and spread to the corporate media in order to simplify the rather complex and interwoven series of geographically, culturally and situationally disparate resistance movements to what can be summarized as the forces of corporate dominance.

Using the term al Qaeda, as we are all prone to do, makes us "useful idiots", or tontos utilés furthering the propaganda of the CIA and the Bushies, and solidifying a myth into a perception of reality.
