I guess I assumed that some 'return to balance' or normalcy was achieved after an adjustment period... I see now you were pretty much talking the 'ledger' or finance... not spiritual life.

IMO it's quite clear that the industrialized society has created more disconnectedness [despite the wonderful internet!] using any definition of spirituality.

Exactly... or attention of siblings, or grandparents, or friends. Maybe a new SUV will do the trick? LOL

Very true. I just returned from a month in some of the poorest areas of Vietnam. It is amazing and refreshing to observe the kids in these areas.....they have no idea how bad they have it, they are too busy running, playing and laughing....making up games. They are also very polite and well adjusted. Coming home to the US can be very strange, the warts are a lot more visible.
