The US has grains and ore. China India and SE Asia standard of living is rising = they will eat more meat = need more grains. (4 to 7 pounds of grain for 1 pound of meat)

Sea freight prices are very high, UDX is 27% or so lower from 2001 = less imports and more local manufacturing of semi finished goods.

All in all it adds to the natural tendency of recovery - immigration is still alive in the US and as such consumption, housing ect. is growing.

The economic rebound "happened" it was liquidity fed (refinancings and tax rebates and corporate tax credits that expire next year) and is nearly over
