"Kitco shows POG up $1.10, but all PM stocks are down. No probs seen in overall market, i.e. DOW, etc. Every PM stock I watch on Yahoo is in the red. Is this decline because of the crappy article in Barons? Could this be a good buying opportunity, like with RGLD after Barons trashed them? Am I missing something here? "

I am wondering if this is related to people (or funds) locking in their profits for 2003. Otherwise cant see many reasons for the general indiscriminate decline in PM stocks ... I'll ride this storm.

Yes, I think it is the Barron's article, and the uncertainty before the Fed tea-leaf-reading. Plus CNBC had a panel that was unanimous in trashing gold. We are probably shaking out a lot of the people who got in for the 400 breakthrough. I don't think the stocks will retreat long enough for a real buying opportunity, though. /BSG

I don't care about that Bacon article, it causes heart-attack. PM stocks maybe in correction to find a better ratio wrt POG.
