nonfarm payrolls clearly shows the 3 million jobloss.
Other statistics are irrelevant, the gold standard metric for jobs is non farm payrolls.

It looks like the high in Jan 01 was : 132560
and the recent number is: 130174(p)

OMD, non-farm payrolls (you know the household survey is a "made up new age indicator" according to Dizzie) show the US lost 2.71 million jobs peak-to-trough in this downturn. The number in 1981-1982 was 2.84 million, from a much smaller base. A 2.0% loss this time vs. 3.1% then.

Just another fact to confuse Dizzie with.
