Lizzie,

Re: The one problem for Dean in the inevitable digging up of stupid things he has said in the past.

That never made a whit of difference to Bush's 2000 campaign, why should it be different for Dean? Are you assuming a horrendous media bias toward covering for the Republican POS, no matter how despicable?

Re: because he has been gov of vermont for so long and he seems to have the foot in mouth disease.

In 1988, Texas Governor Anne Richards famously dismissed George H.W. Bush. "Poor George . . . He can't help it. He was born with a silver foot in his mouth." It was a great laugh line and extremely well received at Mike Dukakis's nominating convention. It didn't prevent Bush from winning, or Richards from losing.

My point, and I do have one, is that you are creating a "straw man" argument here that doesn't meet the test of time.

Re: I know there must be a lot of dirt out there, similar to the "confederate flag pickup truck" incident,

Another "straw man" argument. You're good at these. <gg> Look, Howard Dean used the same line about inclusiveness in front of the extremely integrated Democratic National Committee in February and he got a standing ovation! Eight months later, looking for a scrap of argument to grasp onto before their campaigns slip under the waves, some desperate Democratic candidates race baited Dean by totally distorting the meaning of his words. And you fell for it? Yup. Hook, line and sinker. I'm sure Dean will be able to alleviate some of your obvious confusion and willingness to listen to right wing divisiveness for guidance before the campaign gets into full swing. And it will swing. It will rock. And it will roll. And when it is all over, George Bush will wake up in Crawford, Texas and ask "what the hell hit me?"

" Who would make a good Dean VP do you
think?"

Last night at the Dean Xmas bash, a woman tapped me on the shoulder and said:
Florida's Bob Graham.

Plenty of good, solid centrist type VP possibilities, I think. Several of the current candidates might fit the bill: Clark, Kerry, Gephard et al.

Would be super cool to have a woman VP. Who would that be, other than Clinton?
