First of all, most certainly, Afghanistan would still have been totally in the hands of the Taliban...

Who do you think controls Afghanistan now? It is the reconstituted Taliban and the numerous warlords. Karzai is kept alive by a posse' of US soldiers and rules over 8 or 16 blocks in Kabul.

If Gore had been in office, we would be in Afghanistan and finished our work rather than abandon it and get our thingies stuck in the wedge in Iraq...
