Jeff,
Got out of the business (GC in South FL) after 32 yrs, just piddling since (about 8 yrs).
When I got out here (CO) last May I thought the redi-mixers were kidding (@ $144/yd) but they weren't laughing.
OSB went from $6.99 to over $19/sheet.
And the building goes on.
I've seen this happen a few times on the east coast in the past years...32 story condos going under, etc. But have never seen it go to this extent, especially with single family homes. This time it seems the individual is going to end up in the dumper, along with the developers.
A RE appraiser lives next to us...she's continually shut out if she doesn't abide by the wishes of mortgage brokers own assessment of the property.
Needless to say, I think this is going to end VERY badly.
