I'm well aware of how the electoral college works. I'd think 500,000 popular votes would trump the 500 disputed votes that allowed Bush to win "winner take all" Florida. 500 votes is SO within the margin of error, that the electoral "victory" should have properly been considered a tie. Having the Supremes appoint the Bush-monkey was just wrong. A coin-flip would have been fairer. But better still would have been declaring Florida moot and falling back on the popular vote.
