Good to see you are still kicking, if only with the left leg...

Excellent line, I'll have to use this one sometime. <g>

Now that we did not lose the war.....

You forgot to add the "yet" to your statement. Afghanistan and Iraq are both notorious for allowing foreign invaders with superior military forces into the country, only to see these forces demoralized and attrited over time. Eventually Britain was forced to retreat from Afghanistan post a second expeditionary effort, after catastrophically losing an entire army the first time around. Russia left Afghanistan with its tail between its legs. And the UK also only managed to occupy Iraq for about 3 years after claiming it as a prize after World War I.

To say that we won the war is to be wearing some mighty rose colored glasses. :)

Re: Why do people with glasses half empty with life as a void attack those with glasses half full with life as a joy

I represent the American taxpayer who is being hog-tied, bent over and forced to empty his or her wallet into the maw of military spending. I'm also empathetic with the victims of the military terrorism that is being imposed on Iraq.

You, OTOH, draw your pension and your life's blood from your parasitic relationship to the populace of the U.S. and your buddies' penchant for criminal racketeering in the halls of the Pentagon and the green zones of Iraq.

We see your joy far too frequently extracted from the suffering of others.
