nsp/tippet/patron,
Thanks for your thoughts. I have picked my timeframe (long-term) and am sticking with it. Looking at chart after chart, I agree, we were due for this - and while I can grit my teeth, stay focused on the bigger picture and sit through it - I would be lying if I told you I was enjoying it! I have some friends who are pretty accomplished traders (we have a private Yahoo board, if anyone is interested) but they've been watching this move all year from the sidelines or making some of the mistakes that you (nsp) described. So, I have no serious regrets at this time.

Patron, you mentioned Jesse Livermore. I read Reminiscences earlier this year and that had a profound effect on my thinking in regard to how I must approach this particular bull market. I took his accumulated wisdom to heart and have been using that to "mentor" my approach. Between Jesse, RRussell, JSinclair, JPuplava and the excellent contributors on some of these boards, I feel like I have a good advisory committee to help me keep my head screwed on.

And now, I shall drink a glass of wine and gaze at the lights on the Christmas tree that the kids just decorated. Just call me Rudolph. The Red-Nosed Reindeer-In-The-Headlights, LOL!

A little good news for today.

MACD has completed a bullish crossover. RSI is strong above 50.

DMI Directional indicator has turned bullish, with +D crossing over -D and ADX turning upward. 13 day e.m.a. is about to cross above 20 m.a.

Aroon shows -D weakening, but entering consolidation. Consolidation or a pull-back would not seem unusual.

Maybe something is occurring.

I bought some PDG and lost money today <NFG>

Actually my first losing trade in about 3 weeks since I had to cover IBM and CSCO for loses.

Mostly listened to my own advice though at least I dont have much else in gold.

Should have stuck with shorting the techs

I cant post charts with lines drawn in them any chance you could post an HUI with the fibs. These line up nice with previous short term highs and lows.

I see fibs for HUI as:

23.6 - 223
38.2 - 203
50 - 186
