Recounts are done as provided for in the law, as it exists before the election. In a constitutional system of government, one doesn't make up the laws post-facto in order to achieve the desired result.

Florida was required by the US Supremes (upholding a democrat Florida circuit judge, Sander Saul, who was overturned by the Florida Supremes and who got it right and got the last laugh) to follow its then-existing rules instead of making them up as they went along.

Why you don't understand the importance of that escapes me. If people could make up and change the rules of every election, game, transaction, and interaction in the midst of it and as they went along, there wouldn't be any rules, and we'd live in an anarchy where might makes right.
