That's when his article was published. The poll was taken in AUGUST.

Moreover, it was unscientific and invalid. Not unlike the piece of crap "poll" of US forces in Iraq that was being foisted upon us a few months ago, which failed to distinguish the professional soldiers from weekend warriors, thus accounting for their extreme polar -- but unreported -- differences in response.

The prose that you quoted are what I was referring to: Excuses. Reasons why it wasn't scientific or valid.
