Do you still correspond with Jane Fonda?

No, but I read Tom Hayden.

I'm growing increasingly concerned at the implications of the new DoD Northern Command in the face of the rapid militarization of police forces in America.

While the causes of terrorism go unaddressed, while the U.S. military is engaged in creating hatred for the U.S. across the planet, people who are similar to you blithely think they are going to be doing the nation a favor by ending democracy and imposing a military dicatorship in the U.S.

The signs of this are abundant to those who care to witness them. Tommy Franks recent article in Cigar Afficionado being just the "tip of the spear" in a propaganda campaign designed to soften up the American consciousness for the military overthrow of civilian government in the U.S.

This isn't the direction you would happen to prefer, now is it, JJ?

George Bush remarkably quipped that: "If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator."

Bush seems to be headed that way since this was said on December 18, 2000.

I get the impression that you probably approve. Have I got that about right?

Re: did it for you and I enjoyed parts of every day of it.

I don't doubt but what you took pleasure from your work. That would only be human nature. But I seriously doubt that what motivated you was selflessly looking out for welfare of the anonymous, faceless wisecracking and "disrepectful" citizens of this nation. That would go entirely against human nature.

Ailing Cable & Wireless pulled out of the American market with the sale of its operations there to Gores Technology for just $125m. The businesses were acquired for $2.5 billion under the auspices of Graham Wallace, who was removed as chief executive in April for this profligacy. C&W may be wishing that it had remained a sleepy British telecoms company.

Global Crossing emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy after nearly two years. Government-controlled Singapore Technologies Telemedia paid $250m for a 61.5% stake in the company. Rivals complain that the firm will enjoy an advantage as debts of some $11 billion have been written off.
