My guess is that Australia customs would continue to go with Cognitec, assuming that Cognitec meets the international standards for FR -- and as of now, I'm not sure that they would. However, the importance to me is the apparent success of the technique of taking multiple pictures in the controlled conditions. This should work for Identix as well as Cognitec, and it could become SOP for access control at airports, etc. It won't solve the problems with surveillance applications, but it might fix whatever is wrong with passenger throughput.
