A person doesn't have to be a citizen or a legal immigrant in California to get a driver's license. That license allows them to vote.

Not True. The Driver license thingammy in CA has been revoked. Even if it was not, one needs to provide proof of citizenship to register as a voter, months before elections. driver license is not proof of citizenship - its only an ID that permits you to drive, and use as ID in other situation - not citizenship.

Its not like you 'walk up to the voting place, show your driver license, and vote'.

been thru the voter registration process - not good but seems efficient as it can be.
