That's because they had the smartz to keep religion and government separate. What's to figure? When ever the government meddles in religion...trouble emerges without fail. When ever the church meddles in government, trouble emerges without fail.

The best policy is to keep them separate.

Amen

Orca

Nonsense, some, most, many of our founding fathers were DEISTS.

Remember this one?

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

Deism:

"The belief, based solely on reason, in a God who created the universe and then abandoned it, assuming no control over life, exerting no influence on natural phenomena, and giving no supernatural revelation."

Thomas Jefferson likely was a deist and Benjamin Franklin was most likely as well.
