Imo the replacement of BRCD in the NAZ100 has already been felt. You may even see some mark up on the price as the QQQ sells off its remaining shares.

The way I understand it, these index funds can't liquidate until after the list comes out, as the successor companies were not yet announced. Now that the list is known, they have until the 19th to reposition company ownership.

They have a fairly good idea whick companies are going to be removed, as the index is supposed to contain the 100 largest nasdaq companies based on market cap as of the end of October 2003.
