Spam Causes High Blood Pressure

As the anti-spam effort moves to the courts, the court of public opinion is being tested in a California case of "spam rage." Yes, road rage has a new online cousin. A man accused of threatening to kill or injure employees of a Canadian Internet firm that he thought was responsible for spamming his e-mail account pleaded not guilty yesterday to federal charges tied to the case, The San Jose Mercury News reported. "During a brief hearing in U.S. District Court in San Jose, Charles Booher, 44, stood silently as his federal public defender spoke for him. Booher, who remains free on $75,000 bond, has become a cause celebre on the Web since he was indicted in November on eight counts of sending threatening communications over the Internet. He faces a maximum of five years in prison," the newspaper recounted.
