No matter how you try to wash away the truth with your revisionist history, you will not. Bottom line is, THE MAJORITY of our founders and many since, not only believed in God, but were Christians. The proof is there in the writings of these men, and their actions. Of course they did not want a "state" Denomination, (nor do I), they had just got out from under that in England. That is why Jefferson wrote the letter to the Danbury Baptists, where you actually see the words separation of.. But it never stopped them from believing, and using their faith daily in Government. No matter what you think of Patrick Henry, he said it best, when he said: “ It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been offered asylum, prosperity, and freedom to worship here.” you need to be thankful IF it is possible for you to understand that.
