Viva la tech ! I have to agree... the digital revolution will prevent permanent erasure of history, as is the usual strategy of fascist takeovers. The remaining problem is the brutal physical one, herding people into detention centers, creating mass bioterror breakouts to disable or panic populations into martial lockdowns of our streets. These are all well-developed scenarios in fertile RAND-like minds in DOD. I suspect there is a core of skeptics that is too large to dismiss or lock-up. Let's hope the powers that be aren't so arrogant that they fail to realize that. Thanks for your note of optimism... IMO, if and when we get past the next 20 years' bioterror danger, we'll have an explosion of prosperity that makes the Roaring '90s look passe. If the convergence and acceleration of technologies can be diverted from wiping us out, we'll have an unheard-of standard of living worldwide.
