France is a thorn in the side of Rebubs and Dems, all Americans. Perhaps an object lesson for now - when you liberate a country, they pretty much hate you forever for revealing them as helpless incompetents unable to deal with their own problems.

to scuttle US efforts at the 11th hour.

France was doing America a favor, but Junior's team was too narrowly focused on conquest to see it. It was not a French veto that scuttled a U.N. rubberstamp, but a loss of majority support in the Security Council. It is a trademark of the Republicans to single out a single scapegoat to consentrate their rath, scorn, and jokes to intimidate others. Only the shallow thinkers buy into the ploy.
