Thanks...I like Maudlin, and I agree that he isn't original in his commentary, but he is a good synthesizer of ideas. A lot of the more original thinkers on the economy, such as Noland, Richebaecher, etc, are interesting to read but their commentary doesn't really help me trade in the near term. I think what turns some people off from Maudlin is the fact that he is a bit folksy, and isn't cynical or deeply negative. That, and he is up front about his conservative politics and religious belief. It doesn't seem to have much impact on his market commentary.
