She works in IT, so naturally she hates Gates. No man is a prophet in his own country, and all that, plus it's really, really cool to hate Bill Gates (kinda like hating AOL). Buffett, on the other hand, is mysterious. It's easy to adulate that which you don't understand.

Not quite true. In recent years, Buffet routinely buys whole businesses and has an active role on their boards. Though usually, he buys businesses where he likes management team and he tries to keep it in place.
