We likely disagree less than you might think on this. I need to have some levity from time to time, which you're interpreting as serious. I'll get serious. I believe it is only by granting due respect that these men have stolen the national government by stealth, subterfuge, guile and cunning that one can begin to counteract them effectively. I would agree with the first part and wish I could agree with the second part. I have to admit that the first part was and is a successful tactic. It's been no different the past three years. Their inherent strategy has been and continues to be that coined by Ralph Reed, "Tell them what they want to hear and do whatever you want." 99% of what I read is mainstream media and there are plenty of published items that daily document the contradictions between what this Administration says and what it does. But the conservative base continues to strongly support the Administration. I can't tell you why for certain, but they continue to strongly support from the base. I see no indication that the Administration is moving to a centrist position. They read the polls and see that Americans want UN involvement in Iraq, for example. And they put on the appearance of trying to get UN involvement but continue to act to isolate the US from the UN. Baker is part of the appearance game. The White House approved the Wolfowitz's policy on reconstruction contracts. I don't believe that Bush was oblivious to it. I see they found Saddam today, what would you expect to happen with Bush's approval ratings in the next few weeks. I expect them to go up. Is that rational, I don't think so because that ignores the larger picture that the threats to the US are increasing; but I expect the ratings to go up. And in a month or so, they will drop back to ~50%. The American people have convinced me, that the only way to affect their opinion is repeat 3 or 4 word phrases that appeal to their baser instincts. Tell me why I'm wrong...please. I would really like to be wrong. jttmab
