Didn't you get the point of my last post?

The only reason why "social spending" dropped
from 43.7% of outlays in 1940 to only 2% of outlays
in 1945 is because the defense budget increased by
50-fold during this period! It was not because
social spending was "slashed"!

The defense budget was consuming 90% of total outlays
in 1945. That left only 10% for EVERYTHING else!
