What is that supposed to mean? Israel has a free press, and its conservative papers are no more under Sharon's "control" than is the Wall Street Journal under George Bush's "control".

During the Church Hearings into CIA covert operations in the late 1970s, Senator Frank Church demanded the names of CIA plants who were participating in "the Mighty Wurlitzer", a CIA code name for a program of massively infiltrating the media in the U.S. First, George H.W. Bush, as CIA director, refused to cooperate with Church. Later, William Casey, Bush's replacement, complied to the extent that he provided resumes without names for CIA agents who had been planted across the U.S. media. He ceased after he had turned over 400 such resumes.

To suggest that the media in Israel or the U.S. are not infiltrated, manipulated, and used for propaganda by their respective governments is the height of naivete.

Of course the media is part of a propaganda campaign to control and manipulate the public.
