Laz, you're consistently delivering a three legged argument with only two legs. They just don't stand up. On top of that you put words into my mouth. I won't try to defend what you think I think. LOL.

You are the one that has said we need a big war, to stimulate the economy. WWII probably did stimulate the economy. But remember we were a manufacturing nation then, and building a war machine did help a stagnant economy.

Was the investment a sunk cost? You bet it was. Did we get any direct benefit from those war dollars beyond an initial shot in the arm? Hardly any. In fact the economy post WWII was flat for nearly 25 years. Why was that? Because the war had a wide effect on the long term viability of the economy. The post war period was anything but robust, with war debt to pay, and a peace time economy struggling to find it's way.

As for the plane ticket to Bolivia? Save your dough, I can afford to buy my own ticket.
