I've thought about this. It's frightening to me that if the FBI had sniffed out Atta and the rest of the cell, and busted up the conspiracy, I don't believe it would have caused so much as a ripple in the American awareness of the danger. What if there had been no 9/11? We'd still be in the dark, and OBL would still be plotting from Afghanistan.
