It is good news. Putting him on trial will help in the healing process the Iraqi people need to go through. It allows for a closure his death would have prevented. The U.S. will as well be vindicated in a sense in so much as Saddam's rein of horror will be uncovered and perhaps the U.S. intervention, though no weapons of mass destruction have been found, providing a solid reason for the ill advised 'invasion,'neutralizing the apparent disdain heaped upon the Bush administration. A dead Saddam would have nullified all this. As far as the stock market goes I think we will see a rally of sorts that will allow the saavy few to exit some stocks that have been under performing. The rally will have no duration or legs beyond a few days. IMHO. Now if we had a headline stating "An End To All World Terrorism Has been Achieved" that would be a whole other story!

It's great news and we should get a nice pop in the morning, but aside from the market, anything that helps get our boys back home sooner is definitely cause for celebration.
It's time for our NATO allies to do the right thing and help provide security in Iraq now that regime change is assured and the insurgents have no one to rally around.
The Middle East, with its ancient rivalries, has a much better chance of political and economic stability.
