Did you hear Kerry?

blah, blah, this isn't about politics.

blah, blah, blah, I voted to hold Saddam accountable.

And he said that with a straight face.

Hi Mike,
A non-CW thought this sunday--Gore's timing was once again pathetic. If I were Hillary now, i would get into the fray and try to run a credible pro-american campaign in 04. If she could keep it close, she would be very strong in 08 and there are not many impressive republicans out there to run against. And if the iraq things stays messy and/or the economy falters, she could actually win.
If she doesnt and there is a dean debacle followed by the gore takeover of the left wing, she will have less of a chance. We conservatives should take no delight in the deanstruction of the democratic party. Power shifts from party to party all the time, and it is in all of our interests to have reasonable men and women on both sides of the aisle. Not dirtbags like Dean or pathetic creatures like John Kerry. Mike

The French newscasters are also having a bad day:

From Merde in France:

One more reason for the year to be ruined for the French

Baghdad celebrates, and Paris frowns. Task force 121 got his number. Saddam Hussein, the Ace of Spades and Sarcelles hometown favorite, is reportedly down for count in Tikrit. Buy some anti-depressants for Dieudonné M'Bala M'Bala, Jamel Debbouze, and Jacko the Wacko Chiraq.

UPDATE: As this news is being confirmed with each passing minute, the news annoncer on LCI (French 24 hour news channel subsidiary of TF1) looks like he's in mourning.

UPDATE: The broad now presenting the news on LCI asks, 'How could they catch Saddam Hussein, the Americans were having enormous intelligence problems in Iraq?'. Yeah, enormous problems, according to America's French 'friends'. Just afterwards she switched to Paul Bremer's press conference where he stated 'We got 'im!'.

UPDATE: Bloggers in Iraq cover the story:
Baghdad Skies
Hammorabi

UPDATE: In an incredible display of hubris and French 'sophistication' (no, rather the lack thereof) a somber looking Dominique Villepin™ (he's a guy) just gave a point-by-point statement (live on LCI) of what must be done in Iraq now that Saddam is out of the picture. Aside from supplying port-a-potties, I have no idea how the French could help out in Iraq. Villepin, I don't want to see your face unless you are in a restaurant serving me grilled frogs legs with plenty of Tabasco sauce. Now scoot!

I thought Rather looked sleepy and tired, made a few on-air mistakes. Probably got dragged out of bed. His words were quite enthusiastic, nothing but good things to say about the troops who captured SH. A bit cynical about the higher ups who would wish to take credit.
