The Saddam pop for Bush will be short term. I don't think it will have much impact next November one way or the other. People will be voting based on the economy and where they see the bread being buttered. Bush will be goosing the economy for all it is worth next year. It could be a real uphill battle for a Democrat to overcome the advantages of incumbency.

For some galling and perplexing reason, the American people just don't seem to give a damn that Bush is the most corrupt President in anyone's living memory. And that he's terrible for democracy and our fiscal future. That just doesn't seem to resonate with millions of his loyal flock of well-fed, empty headed sheeple.

Nor does the public seem to give a damn that Bush is deeply implicated in the plot to perpetrate 9/11. Or that he's a war criminal engaged in naked aggression of the Nazi variety. The sheeple just don't give a hoot. They like a strong man, a simple man who sees the world in black and white. Are Americans simpletons? Sure seems so.
