What's been going on in the Bush administration is reminiscent of the Tea Pot Dome scandal. It's the updated version where if you scratch my back I'll scratch your back after you get out of office. There's been so many things going on, Bill Moyers did a show on the coal industry lobbyists being given appointments in the Bush administration, the fox guarding the hen house. With the attention off the Saddam chase people will be focusing on domestic issues much more. Bush is doing his best to destroy the environment and to enrich his buddies along the way.

Helen Thomas will be on Now with Bill Moyers next week. She has a real high regard for Dubya.

"Steven Griles is just the poster child of the corporate influence on this administration."

"MOYERS: The signature on the letter to Hahn is none over than J. Steven Griles.

J. Steven Griles: You may remember that we introduced Mr. Griles to you a few weeks ago. He's the man President Bush named to the second most powerful job at the Interior Department to make sure industry gets what it wants.

J. Steven Griles is notorious for his conflicts of interest. As a lobbyist for oil, gas and mining companies, he enters government to help enrich the companies he once worked for and then returns to industry to enrich himself. I'm not making this up.

During his time in the Reagan administration he worked to undercut surface-mining laws, tried to keep the public from knowing about the environmental hazards of offshore drilling, and just before leaving office, reduced royalty rates for the coal industry that then turned around and hired him."

Wow,

Just heard the news about Saddams capture. Things were much better for we Democrats to have Saddam out there directing terrorist activities against US troops.

Now the Republicans can claim a PR victory for their side.
Damn!! We really needed a quagmire in Iraq until the elections.
