Eye for an eye is the Muslim law which many Iraqis are.

Do you think they invented that concept? Remember Exodus 21:23-25?

23 "But if there is {any further} injury, then you shall appoint {as a penalty} life for life, 24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise.

Do you think Jews and Christians should deal with their enemies in like manner?

And doing what you advocate is not only a violation of international law with regard to his POW status, but also likely a violation of humanitarian law.

So yes.. you bet I'm applying "western" law to this situation. After all, western law, for the most part, is derived from many different sources, including the Mid-East.

I would like to point you in the direction of the swift sentencing of the SA monarchy to the perpetrators of Khobar Towers bombing.

And I would like to point you to the ABSENCE of any intelligence information related to accessories/supporters of that attack because of such a hasty execution.

At least nothing the Saudis shared with us..

But it's nice to know that I never have to worry about you ever asserting the US should heed international law and humanitarian conventions.

Obviously you have little regard for any of them, unless it suits your particular agenda.

chinu. You said..." Eye for an eye is the Muslim law which many Iraqis are."....

Yep. And that is one of the main reasons why the world is now at war with islam....because their uncivilized laws have been permitted to exist in a world that is evolving with out islam.

Eye for an eye is the Muslim law which many Iraqis are. Let them apply their law to their people. I would like to point you in the direction of the swift sentencing of the SA monarchy to the perpetrators of Khobar Towers bombing

...which, by happy coincidence, prevented the CIA from interrogating the suspects.

Listen to yourself. How much difference is there between what you just said and "They're just wogs; can't expect rule of law from them. They don't understand any of that stuff. Been killing each other forever."?

Not much, to my ears. There's a term for this attitude - compassionate racism.
