Very convenient to have the idea of the second coming at your disposal....and in fact it is true . How desperate and empty all this myth and theology interwined to sound so factual...how verbose and overworded and generalizing and weak.

but you wouldn't know Jesus if he came a second , third or fourth time or for the hundreth time ...for he would not suit you and you would not recognize him if he came in a blaze of glory with trumpets and jingle bells blaring.

Try simplifying and come down off your imaginary throne "Elected One"....love "was" always the answer ?
Tell everyone about love , if you can...

Excellent , now you're talking ( so get walking ... but don't kill us with too much kindness....) :

Matthew 12:25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

Apart from simply surrendering this world to doom and gloom, the most damnable aspect of doomsayers is the spreading of discourse among brethren. Surely Christianity today has become lame in society and laughable to many because we so readily divide and fight among ourselves. Christ said this:

John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

"The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing."

So where does it all get so complicated for you , that you must post all these long windy sermons? Just stay with the apostle John , and you'll be OK.

Your finishing quote by Edmund Burke deserves further study of the man ...prominent political philospher:

Edmund Burke : "Stuck in a Frame "
blupete.com

"Superstition is the religion of feeble minds."

"Despotism of the multitude ... [however] democracy is the only tolerable form into which human society can be thrown, that a man is not permitted to hesitate about its merits, without the suspicion of being a friend to tyranny, that is, of being a foe to mankind?"

"The human mind is often in a state neither of pain nor pleasure, which I call a state of indifference." (Sublime & Beautiful, 1756.)

"In a democracy, the majority of the citizens is capable of exercising the most cruel oppressions upon the minority." (Reflections on the Revolution in France, 1790.)

"The public is the theatre for mountebanks and impostors."

The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing."
-- Edmund Burke (1729-1797)

Your essay on Burke is due next wedsnesday...
