>>> Far more WMD's in former Soviet stockpiles which can be compromised through corruption, mafias, etc. Compared to those WMD's sources Saddam was minor league.<<<

Saddam's regime played ball pretty much in its own regional theater, not the world's. Seems if there were any bragging by Saddam, it was tilted more in the aim of gaining political capital from impressing an Arab influence. He was by no means the demon international devil dog that Bush, et. al., fraudulently made him out to be.

Anyway, Bush took on a bogus strategy--hoping for big results--when he and his handlers decided to extort political capital in exchange for making Iraq seem a greater threat than it was. In the aftermath of 9/11, war and terror politics soaped up lots of cover over a bad economy as well as even the illegitimacy of Bush's election.

The idea here was and is to keep half the country in tow with the war/terrortime thinking. In order to keep that 50 percent support level in check the Bush Administration spit out numerous flagrant misrepresentations (lies, really), false hopes and forced fears to a complacent American media. False stuff got shoved onto the public consciousness all in an effort, the strategy, for keeping that 50 percent support base.

So long as half of Americans (the hell with the rest of the world--lol!) are supportive to the Administration then that translates into good odds for winning the next election. Next, the obscene money enters to sway a low percentage, but enough of a margin, of fencesitter types who'll vote Bush over the edge to reelection.

I think this is essentially what's been happening. But I don't think the masters of war quite figured Iraqi resistance would remain difficult and tough as it became and is. All in all? The death goes on, but the strategy stays the same.

Unfortunately, the truth and respect of diplomacy in the world suffer greatly; a tremendous opportunity for America to have become a truly great world leader in a very historical moment got deeply dissed; and too many more people have died or become wounded as a consequence of Bush-Cheney decisions. Yes, the strategy.

What's also sad is that America's media got tainted in the process of reporting (or not reporting) the strategy above. If this is so, from where do we citizens begin to find a true source for reliable information? I think the media could become one of the more damaging consequences of the Bush Administration.

As to your point, yes, Saddam was minor league.

And of things leaguelike:
