BTW: Saddam never gassed "his own people". He gassed the Kurds who are not his people. There is definitely mutual hatred there. The British carved up Iraq after WWII to include the Kurds in the country. They have never gotten along. To say he gassed "his own people" may be true from a national stand-point but not at all from an ethnic one. It was a terrible thng of course, but at the time Reagan didn't give a damn about it. Nobody cared about the Kurds excpt other Kurds.
