The US rewarded Saddam for killing Iranians by the hundreds of thousands. Remember? Saddam was Reagan's guy holding the Ayatollah at bay and bleeding him dry. We didn't really care about either country figuring the more they all die the better. Ironically now Bush uses the mass graves as a fright wig, not telling us many of those mass graves are filled with human waves of Iranians they slaughtered with weapons we supplied them.
