I think it might have been the other way around. Talk about coming out of the closet. I'm surprised to see you in festive mood after the Nooners got Bungled. I'm starting to have nightmares about next Sunday. It would be horrorific if a team that got beat by Cheeseheads, then by Cincinnati's finest, upset the Iggles coming off 6 days rest here at the Linc. Personally I think the Iggles are going to have their hands full tonight. A loss might be good. It would put them in a properly ugly mood for the Nooners. It will be interesting to see how McNabb and Williams perform tonight. Philadelphia fan-atics went nutso when we passed on Ricky to take Donovan. I was one of them. In retrospect, and as good a back as Ricky Williams is, there aren't many - if any - people around here that think Reid and Laurie made the wrong choice. Meantime, here's a Hollywood Freddie update for cId:... It has helped that slot receiver Freddie Mitchell and rookie tight end L.J. Smith have emerged from the receiving pack. The outspoken Mitchell reeled in three balls for 58 yards against the Cowboys. Mitchell has shown his toughness by taking hard hits over the middle, while Smith has proven that he can split out as a wide receiver and make catches. "He's doing a nice job. He's playing very well," said Reid of Mitchell. "We ask him so often to work in space in the middle there. You're going to take some big hits in there and you know that. He's fearless in there." Big event, locally, is that we be Chattanooga bound. NCAA Division I-AA Gridiron Championship * Colgate Raiders (15-0) vs. Delaware Fighting Blue Hens (14-1) * When: Friday, December 19 at 7 p.m. * Where: Finley Stadium in Chattanooga, Tenn. * TV: ESPN2 Be sure to tune in, and look for me in the Delaware contingent. I'll be the quiet hen. - ce -
