Not so. Deficit spending is not part of a long term trend.

Pre-emptive war is definitely not part of a long term trend.

Manufacturing jobs lost is part of a more near term trend, since the passage of NAFTA and other free trade bills. This is something that needs attention to now, but Bush has done nothing, as shipping jobs over seas to low wage countries is good for the multinational corporations. These are the same guys that are funding Bush's campaign.

If we are on a highway to hell then it's the current driver's fault for not turning things around.
