It might not have been, but it was hard to tell when the economy was in the middle of the largest expansion in history. But from time to time things need to be adjusted. NAFTA was brought to you by a Republican congress as well as Clinton signing it into law. But that doesn't excuse Bush for letting the hemorrhaging continue, does it? Orca

I think in the LONG RUN NAFTA will turn out to be a good thing. Its certainly good for consumers. Naturally there is always "adjusting" pains to something like this but in the LONG RUN seems to me each nation will gravitate to producing that which it does the best. My recollection is it was THOMAS JEFFERSON who said we should be a nation of Agriculture products, no one does it better nor more effecient then us. jdn
