what's to spin? they caught a dishevelled tired old man in a dank rat-hole in a forgotten cellar in the middle of nowhere...who quite obviously could not possibly be the mastermind of the resistance. if you think about it, there's no upside to be expected from this...but quite possibly a lot of downside ( he might still end up a 'martyr' ) .
as for your hero, the guy who can't even string together a sentence unaided, what does it matter if he 'outflanks the dems'? it makes no difference whatsoever on account of there being no difference between those parties or their candidates on the most pressing questions of our time. all the democratic candidates save one ( who doesn't stand a chance anyway ) want to tough it out in Iraq...all voted for the 'PATRIOT' monstrosity without even knowing what it contained...all are apt to feed at the public trough to the best of their abilities. the only difference that i can discern concerns degrees of projected embarrassment on occasion of public appearences. as a thinking human being you simply have to CRINGE when you hear the born-again frat-boy speak...that much is certain.
the only politician in the Congress who actually stands for something and can proudly point to have defended his principles and the cause of liberty on every available opportunity is Ron Paul - and he has just been 'redistricted' to make sure that he won't interfere with the pork-barreling in the future.
Dow 12K? nothing's 'impossible', but that one sure sounds like a loooong wait. note in this context that the Nikkei's bear market rallies since the 1989 top have on average been much bigger than the recent bear rally in US equities...nevertheless, new lows always followed in due course. post bubble economies don't heal that easily...the Fed doesn't keep the FF rate at a 45 year low because they think it's funny. i believe they're scared that the US economy is a hollow shell about to implode. i can only heartily agree...
