I think if Saddam would have tried to resist instead of crawling out of that hole on his belly, that the markets would have swung up for a day.

But really, I think the markets were already predisposed to the fact that Saddam was a non issue, ie witness the recent gains in the market. On valuations alone it's time to for a little retracing.

As for the dollar, it's problems are more akin to the rising trade and budget deficits.

Ask yourself this question: If there was a terrorist strike in the US tomorrow, on the order of the 9-11 attack, what would be the effect on the market?

DOW 7,000 within a week?
