There are many people who believe that civilized nations should abolish the death penalty and many have done exactly that.

The world has gone stark, staring mad. Nadine, there certainly are days when it seems so, doesn't it?

If there is anything that is 'amusing' in any of this, it is that some of the opinions in some of the off-media printed here, are so predictable. So anti Bush and anti-American, even if "they" profess that isn't true.....

Right. The fact that the world as a whole just can't get with the neocon program does indeed seem to indicate that it has gone "stark, staring mad". If you've already gone through the looking glass into neocon world anyway, where the inhabitants are proud wear their "we know everything and everyone else is stupid" attitude on their sleeves. Under conventional reality, the "madness" issue is debatable, but the consensus would seem to point in the other direction.
