Hi Carl, you're right, actually my timetable was too conservative. :)

We crushed them in 45 days instead of 3 months, with most Iraqi's cheering us on, and we installed a form of Representative government within 3 months.

It looks like the constitution will take a bit longer than 12 months, but we'll have to see.

Constrast what I predicted with "we would never invade", and "it will be a Vietnam conflict", (perhaps lasting at least 12 years), and I'll take my track record any day. :)

res-Maybe you believe differently. Okay, tell me what month of the war will see fewer coalition (i.e. foreign CPA troop) casualties than, for example, the 31 deaths December 2003? My reason for specifying coalition troops is that these numbers are conveniently available on MSNBC.

Measuring the *death* toll of coalition troops is not a complete measure of our success. 3000 deaths occurred September the 11th 2001 on U.S. soil, yet, I doubt you would suggest we are caught in a Vietnam quagmire in N.Y. A sudden bombing could kill hundreds of people, that doesn't mean we are losing the war, or the support of the vast majority of the Iraqi people.

From report after report, from poll after poll, we are seeing vast support from the Iraqi people. Yes Carl, the same Iraqi people who waved at our troops and hugged us as we liberated their country. The same Iraqi people who marched in the streets against the terrorist a couple of days ago, and the same Iraqi people who celebrated when Saddam the butcher was caught by *our* (that's U.S.) troops.

Seems to me your focusing on the 3% of the population and neglecting the other 97% percent.

But that's just my opinion...

5 days don't make a trend, but no Americans have been killed and guerilla attacks seem uncoordinated and concentrated on Iraqis.
